William Mohr
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ William A. Mohr, age 70, of Pinckneyville, passed away on April 29, 2008, at 6:42 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital Emergency Room as the result of an accident.
Bill was born on February 9, 1938 in Denmark, Ill., a son to Lawrence F. and Ruth I. (Smith) Mohr. On October 6, 1962, he married Verna Mae Loos at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, and she survives. He was a member of the Denmark Baptist Church, Denmark, and served as chairman of the church's trustees. He worked as a truck driver, a coal miner at Captain Mine, and a farmer. In his lifetime, he was a past Master of Alma Masonic Lodge #497, Steeleville, UMWA, Quail Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, Ainad Shrine Temple, the owner of Gander Hill Goose Club, loved flying and fishing in Canada, and loved being godfather of his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Verna Mae of Pinckneyville; two sisters, June I. (Neal) McDaniel of DuQuoin, and Ruth Ann Plymale of Rockford; two brothers-in-law, Fred (Paula) Loos of Pinckneyville, and Leonard (Jeanette) Loos of VonOrmy, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (Don) Fox of Swanwick, and Ruby (Mike) Wotawa of Defiance, Mo.; fourteen nieces and nephews, Dena Dieguez, Doug Plymale, Dr. Julie Morgethaler, Greg Morgethaler, Cody Edwards, Daron Fox, Mark Fox, Donna Page, Tracy Warhoover, Justin Wotawa, Amy Conway, Amber Loos, Alicia Hutchings, and Bethany Loos; numerous cousins and close friends; and his dogs, Brownie and Suzy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, on Saturday, May 3 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Cynthia Bean and Rev. Lucas Dunn officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
Friends may call at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, on Friday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Masonic services will be held on Friday at 7 p.m.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, Denmark Baptist Church, or to Siteman Cancer Center for Breast Cancer Research at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
