Julian E. Knight

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Julian E. Knight, 68, of Tamaroa, passed away at 1 a.m., Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Julian had worked as a mechanic and electrician for the coal mine. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin. He was a member of UMW of A.

He was born July 9, 1939 at Du Quoin, IL, the son of Julian Francis and Dorothy (Harris) Knight.

He is survived by seven children - Dean Knight and wife Carolyn of Du Quoin, Sue Bagley and husband Bill of Elkville, Charlene Gugle of Johnston City, Lavonna Hammond and husband Steve of Sesser, Robin Luthy and husband Greg of Pinckneyville, Kathy Hamburger and husband Gary of Du Quoin, and Julie Woodsides and husband Joe of Du Quoin, five siblings - Norma Shaw of Tamaroa, Gerald Knight of Energy, Tom Knight and wife Melissa of Valier, Alice Howell and husband Marvin of Herrin, and Russell Knight of Du Quoin, twenty grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother - Vera Knight, and one brother - Gary Knight.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
