Marilyn Bigham
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Marilyn Jeanne Bigham, age 77, of Du Quoin, passed away on March 5, 2008, at 9:57 a.m.
Marilyn was born on July 5, 1930 in Pinckneyville, a daughter to Bert L. and Mattie Belle (Akin) Hegler. On Oct. 6, 1962, she married Winton L. Bigham in Pinckneyville, and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1984. She was a homemaker, a member of Sunfield United Methodist Church, a member and past worthy matron of Eastern Star, a 4-H Leader for the Oak Grove Cornhuskers, former member of the Community Consolidated District 212 School board, actively involved in politics and enjoyed being an election judge for many years. Marilyn enjoyed camping and spending time with her family outdoors. She found great joy in watching her grandkids play baseball and basketball. She was also a St. Louis Cardinal fan and an avid follower of Pinckneyville Panther sports.
Survivors include three sons, Dwight (Elaine) Bigham of Pinckneyville, Dallas (Rhonda) Bigham of Du Quoin and Clinton (Michelle) Bigham of Herrin; three daughters, Brenda (Colin) Clarke of Surrey, British Columbia, Susan Bigham of Springfield, Ill., and Amy Bigham of Herrin; one brother, Bert (Jean) Hegler, Jr. of Portland, Ore.; one sister, Judith (Tony) Beninati of Pinckneyville; and eight grandchildren, Cole and Callie Bigham, Trenton and Dalton Bigham, Kayla Fann and Chase Bigham, Chad Bigham, and Maya Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, at 11:30 a.m. in Sunfield United Methodist Church in Sunfield. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery at Pinckneyville.
Friends may call at Sunfield United Methodist Church, Sunfield on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Sunfield United Methodist Church Building Fund.
