Irene Henderson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Irene Levena Henderson, 95, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Mo.

Irene was a lifelong homemaker and long time resident of Du Quoin. She graduated from Nevada, Missouri High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin and a member of the Ruth Sunshine Class. She was also active for many years in Thursday Women's Club and the Du Quoin Breakfast Club.

She was born Aug. 26, 1912, at Nevada, Mo., the daughter of Edward Alonzo and Anna Agnes (Schamoski) Owens.

She married Robert Edward Henderson, Sr. on Aug. 2, 1931, at Pinckneyville, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1987.

She is survived by one son, Tom Henderson and wife Sandra of Columbia, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Frances Henderson of Du Quoin; four grandchildren, Scott Henderson and wife Emily, Susan Henderson Moore and husband Richard, Diana Forbes and husband Rob, and Karen Henderson; three great-grandchildren , Elise Henderson, Olivia Henderson, and Vivian Tarver; and one nephew, Bill Owens and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Robert E. Henderson Jr.; and one brother, Joe Owens.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends may call from noon until the time of service on Saturday at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
