Harold Schrader

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Harold Schrader, 73, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at 1:18 a.m. at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Harold was born on Sept. 20, 1934, in Pinckneyville, a son to William H. and Clara (Caupert) Schrader. He was a veteran of the United States Army. On Sept. 8, 1956, he married Eunice Yung at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville. He was a self-employed farmer and worked at Bigham Farms. He was also a retired coal miner for Amax/ Arch Coal Mine. Harold was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Conant and served as a trustee for the church. He was a member of the American Legion, in Pinckneyville, UMWA, and the American Thresherman Association. He was a former PCHS school board member and Panther Booster Club member, and he loved farming.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice of Pinckneyville; a daughter, Gayle (Lanny) Lansden of Wright, Wyo.; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Konkel of Pinckneyville; four grandchildren, Kevin (Angie) Schrader of Coulterville; Natalie (Dan) Stine of Farina; Tyler Lansden of Chapmanville, W. Va.; and Jill Lansden of Chapmanville, W. Va.; five siblings, Clarence (Alberta) Schrader of Percy; Edna (Gerhardt) Schwarz of Pinckneyville; Edwin (Flossine) Schrader of Pinckneyville; Wilma (Jack) Ewing of Pinckneyville; and William "Bill" (Georgia) Schrader of Pinckneyville; an uncle, John Caupert; and three great-grandchildren, David, Wyatt, and Lane Stine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Randy Schrader; and a sister, Gertrude Schrader.

Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, at Conant on Monday, March 10, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jon Smithley officiating. Interment will be at Mueller Hill Cemetery, at Pinckneyville.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville on Sunday from 5 p.m. till 9 p.m. and on Monday from 8 a.m. till 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Lung Association, or to Trinity Lutheran Church.
