Dorothy Kearney

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Dorothy L. Kearney, 84, of Elkville, passed away at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.

Dorothy was a homemaker and had been a surgical nurse for 26 years. She was of the Protestant faith and was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary in Bloomington.

She was born April 26, 1923, in Elkville, the daughter of Edward and Edith (Wisely) Tow.

She married Arthur W. Kearney on Oct. 13, 1977, at Pylmira, Mo., and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Elkville; her son, Jerry Seibert and wife Rosemary of Elkville; four grandchildren, Jay Seibert, Dwayne Seibert, Drew Seibert and Stephanie Seibert, two great grandchildren- Buddy Seibert and John Seibert; her brother, Virgil Tow and wife Mary of Cedar Hill, Mo.; three sisters-in-law, Rose Tow of Elkville, Trenna Rezinas and husband Bill of Shelbyville and Betty Fisher and husband Earl of Thousand Oaks, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Silas Morgan officiating.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Elkville Cemetery.
