Virginia Teaney

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Virginia Ruth Teaney, 85, of Du Quoin, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at 6:29 p.m. in her home.

Virginia was born on Aug. 3, 1922, in Hallidayboro, a daughter to William A. and Canary (Crosson) Spiller. On Aug. 3, 1940, she married Robert Edward Teaney in Jackson, Mo., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 2000. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin, the Euzelian Sunday School Class, and she loved her church and family.

Survivors include a son, Carl (Brenda) Teaney of Du Quoin; a daughter, Janet (Raymond) Pyron of Du Quoin; a brother, William Paul Spiller of Willisville; four grandchildren, Mark (Susan) Smith of Springhill, Fla., Virginia Harris of Du Quoin, Terri (Ron) Pigg of Du Quoin and Keith Alan (Tara) Pyron of Du Quoin; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two special cousins, Lanina Reis and Wanda Lowe; a special niece, Connie Deaton and a caregiver, Pam Owens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Linda Teaney, and a sister, Evelyn Little.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home in Du Quoin on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home Du Quoin on Sunday from 12 p.m. till 2 p.m.
