Vada Morgan

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Vada Ruth Morgan, 79, of Flora, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at her residence.

Vada had worked at Country Set and had also been a cook at Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin and a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 3999 at Flora.

She was born Dec. 27, 1928, at West Frankfort, the daughter of Irvin and Clara (Brown) Lee.

She married Raymond Herrell on April 30, 1948, at West Frankfort, and he preceded her in death. She married Thomas J. Morgan on Aug. 16, 1986, at Du Quoin, and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Flora; two daughters, Marsha Bratten and husband Bruce of Du Quoin, and Betty Cox and husband Dennis of Flora; one brother, Lester Lee of West Frankfort; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin Lee and Clara Todd; her first husband; one sister and one brother.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Dr. John Lewis and Bruce Bratten officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Denning Cemetery at Orient.

Memorials can be made to the Southeastern Illinois Hospice in Olney and will be accepted at the funeral home.
