Oran Logan
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Oran B. Logan, 92, of rural Pinckneyville, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at 4:37 a.m. at Mount Vernon Healthcare Center in Mount Vernon, Ill.
Oran was born on Jan. 11, 1916, in Pinckneyville, a son to John A. and Flora E. (Jenkel) Logan. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II in the Pacific theater. On Jan. 11, 1942, he married Flossie M. House in St. Louis, Mo., and she preceded him in death on April 10, 1989. He was a farmer, raised Polled Hereford cattle, and worked as a carpenter. He was a member of Sunfield United Methodist Church, Sunfield United Methodist Men, Perry County Farm Bureau, had formerly served on 204 School Board and in his earlier years worked at Coca Cola and did construction at Decca and at Captain Mine.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen O. (Caroline) Logan of Du Quoin, John "Stanley" (Sue) Logan of Du Quoin and Marion L. (Pam) Logan of Pinckneyville; one daughter, Beth Ann (Steve) Lazenby of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Dorothy (Don) Jones of Shreveport, La., and Ramona (Gene) Stotlar of Pinckneyville; ten grandchildren, Brett Logan, Selena McElvain, Darren Logan, Jon Logan, Elisabeth Collins, Craig Lazenby, Matt Lazenby, Seth Logan, Nick Logan, and Caleb Logan; one step-granddaughter, Heather Cox; five great-grandchildren, Chase and Caulden Lazenby, Camlin Logan, and Grace and Sallee Collins, and one step-great-granddaughter, Alexis Cox.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Wilbur "Casey" Logan, Clarence "Babe" Logan and Nelson Logan, and a sister, Iva Kennedy.
Funeral services will be held in Sunfield United Methodist Church in Sunfield on Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Kesling officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., on Friday from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. and at Sunfield United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
