Nita Kellerman

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Nita Marie Kellerman, 66, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Kirkwood, Mo.

Nita was born on May 4, 1941, a daughter to Lowell and Dorothy (Smith) Crumbacher. On June 6, 1962, she married Don "Shorty" Kellerman at the St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, and he survives. Nita was a homemaker and a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, U of I Home Extension's mixed nuts unit, served on the Pinckneyville Hospital Board for 16 years, was a 4-H leader for the Oakgrove Cornhuskers, ran a daycare from her home for many years, was an avid Panther basketball fan and loved spending time and being involved with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Don "Shorty" of Pinckneyville; three daughters, Beth Lipe, of Pinckneyville, Katie (Jim) Spurgeon of Columbia and Carrie (Kim) Morris of Nashville; her mother-in-law, Helen Kellerman of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Carolyn (George) Stein of Millstadt and JoAnn (Bob) Gerencher of Frankfort; six grandchildren, Donnie and Drew Lipe, Libby and Sophie Spurgeon, and Katelyn and Joe Morris, and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Joe Kellerman.

Funeral mass will be on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville at 10 a.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Interment will be at the St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery in Pinckneyville.

Friends may call at the Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited on Thursday at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to the St. Bruno Endowment or to the Pinckneyville Skilled Care Auxiliary Unit.
