Harold Messer

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Harold Allen Messer, 73, of Du Quoin, passed away at 4:05 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at his residence.

Harold had worked at Turco Manufacturing Company as a screener. He was a member of the Du Quoin Eagles.

He was born on Oct. 12, 1934, at Makanda, the son of Harvey and Maude (Furlow) Messer.

He married Norma Jean Gilliam on May 10, 1986, in Du Quoin, and she survives.

He is survived by one son, Allen Ray Messer of Du Quoin; two step daughters, Tracy Asbury and Teresa Ruff, both of Du Quoin; one brother, Curt Messer of Elkville; one sister, Hailine White of Highland; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter , Samantha Messer; three sisters and one brother.

Per Harold's request, cremation services were held.

There will be no public visitation or funeral.
