Danny Zobel pitched one inning allowing a solo home run and Jason Becker pitched the seventh earning the save. Marissa took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second with the help of 2 Steeleville errors. Hostert escaped any more damaged when second baseman Eric Gramenz started a double play by fielding a ground ball, throwing to shortstop Ross Cook, who relayed to first baseman Peter Zobel to complete the twin killing.

Cook then gave Steeleville the lead in the bottom of the inning with a big blast. Casey Bollman drew a one out walk and stole second. Gramenz walked with two outs bringing Cook to the plate. Cook then launched a home run to right center giving Steeleville a 3-1 lead. Steeleville added another run in the third on Peter Zobel's RBI single to right. Marissa got 3 hits in the top of the fourth off Hostert. The third hit, a single to center, scored a run but center fielder Jacob Mayer threw a perfect strike to home plate preventing a second run from scoring.

Steeleville got some insurance runs in the fifth. Hostert and Becker started the inning with singles and Peter Zobel sacrificed them to second and third. Hostert scored on a passed ball and becker ended up scoring on a wild pitch. Marissa cut the lead to 6-3 in the sixth, but that was all the closer they would come. Cook was 1-1 with the three-run homer, 2 walks, and a hit by pitch. Becker went 2-3 and Peter Zobel was 1-2 with a RBI. Steeleville now takes their 12-14 record into district play.
