Chester City Council moves forward on Property Maintenance Code

The ordinance does however permit emergency vehicles, delivery trucks, and trash trucks to drive on th streets mentioned.

The ordinance will go into effect as soon as the signs are erected on the streets named.

The council also approved funds in the amount of $1,600 for the crossing guard program at Chester Grade School per recommendation of Chester Chief of Police Ryan?Coffey. According to City Clerk Nancy Eggemeyer the Chester School District will share the cost for the program.

In other action, the council approved the purchase of a F450 Dump Truck for the Maintenance Department in the amount of $41,198. The truck will be purchased from Landmark Automotive Group in Springfield.

The council then approved TIF?Accounting as of December 31, 2006, with respect to fifth distribution of property tax received by the City of Chester relative to Kipp Redevelopment Project.

After a review of the minutes from previous Executive Sessions and verbatim records of closed sessions the council determined for them to remain confident.

The council also approved a $500 donation to the Chester Area Concert Association.

The next regularly scheduled city council meeting will be held Monday,?August 4 at 7:00 p.m. at city hall.
