Margaret Eggemeyer sentenced to probation

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[On May 22, 2008 Margaret Eggemeyer pleaded guilty to Possession with the Intent to Deliver more than 500 grams but not more than 2000 grams of Cannabis, a Class 2 Felony.

According to the Randolph County States Attorneys' Office, Eggemeyer was sentenced to 72 hours in jail. Eggemeyer will start serving her sentence on Monday, July 21. She also received two years' probation and was ordered to pay fines and court costs totaling $10,000. She must also pay a $1,000 drug assessment fee.

It was also recommended that Eggemeyer undergo drug and alcohol counseling. She must pay a $25 fee per month to the probation department.

Eggemeyer was facing a possibility of 3-7 years in prison and a fine up to $100,000 plus court costs.

Her husband, Darrel Eggemeyer 59, was sentenced on Monday, July 7, to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. He also received 4 years of supervised probation, a $10,000 fine and must pay $2,000 for a drug assessment fee.

He is currently incarcerated at Graham Correctional Center.
