</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ The ordinance book that the County Clerk's Office has been working on is finally in its final draft. Those involved in the book have three weeks to make any revisions, preferably, so that it may be presented in the second meeting in August.

There has also been discussion about revisiting the rules for the Board of Review to help handle complaints in a more professional and timely manner.

Other items on the agenda that were discussed:

- Passed an ordinance establishing the office of Planning and Development.

- Approved the resolution for a zoning special use permit for Ervin Bird.

- Approved a resolution authorizing the Chairman to contract outside legal and economic development services - Re: Toney Watkins Company. Persons in mind are Kurt Froehleck, bond attorney, and Gene Norber, economic consultant.

- Approved a resolution appointing Judges of Election, as submitted by the political parties. The County Clerk also wished to keep the list open for the moment for approximately 50 more judges.

- Discussed the implementation of audit recommendations, which were reimbursement for travel forms and the check processing duplication within the road department. Information regarding the checking audit was not distinct, and the item was shelved.

- Approved the raffle license application for American Thresherman Association.

There was also a public comment made by a Mr. Jenkel that mowing crews had been mowing over Johnson Grass, a noxious grass weed, and that, if possible, mow crews instead mow around the grass so that it may be sprayed properly. To dispose of the grass, cut the head off the grass, burn it, then spray the rest of it down with weed killer.
