</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Pinckneyville (Post #2504) defeated host Steeleville Sunday evening and plays against Clay County (Flora) in the winners bracket finals Wednesday at 5 p.m.
The first and second place teams from the six-team event advance into Fifth Division play this weekend in Trenton.
Du Quoin (Post #647 Sons of the American Legion) spotted Clay County an early 11-0 lead Sunday and lost 12-5 in first round play, before being ousted 5-0 by Steeleville Monday night.
Against Steeleville, Post #647 spotted the hosts two runs in the fourth inning.
Three wild pitches led to a pair of unearned tallies against starter Kyle Kelley.
In the seventh, Steeleville salted the win away by tacking on three more runs.
One of the runs was earned—and proved to be Steeleville's lone earned tally of the game.
Kelley worked the first four innings with Logan Carson finishing up.
The duo struck out six and gave eight hits.
Du Quoin managed six hits, two apiece from Kelley and Keegan Robbins. Sam Kuhnert and Jacob Craig also hit safely.
