A Murphysboro man faces a pair of felony charges after he was caught allegedly stealing utility terrain vehicles from around the area.
Murphysboro Police say they received a report around 8:05 a.m. Nov. 4 of a trailer containing such a vehicle having been stolen. Around 3:15 p.m., Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle pulling a similar trailer and determined that the driver, 35-year-old Danny Odom, was associated with the earlier theft.
Following Odom’s arrest, authorities learned Odom allegedly was behind another trailer and vehicle theft reported to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office earlier in the day and another one out of Randolph County.
Odom was taken to the Jackson County Jail, and police say other charges are pending.
Odom’s preliminary hearing has been set for Nov. 19 in Jackson County Circuit Court.
