SIU Police for October 4

9/15: Non-SIU student Jesus Jacobo, 19, of Portland, was arrested on charges of driving on a suspended driver’s license at about 11:33 p.m., at W. Mill St. and S. Illinois Ave. 

Non-SIU student James Hadley, 23, of Carbondale, was arrested on charges of criminal trespassing to state property at the Glove Factory in Carbondale at about 10:01 p.m. He was unable to post the required bond and was taken to the Jackson County Jail. 

Three students were referred to Student Rights and Responsibilities for drug law violations at about 12:06 a.m., at Mae Smith Hall. 

On Sept. 15, at 9:30 a.m., at Quonset Hut at Neckers a burglary was reported. SIU Police said there was forcible entry, but nothing was missing at this time. 

9/16: Five students were referred to Student Rights and Responsibilities for drug law violations at about 10:15 p.m., at Brown Hall. 

Non-SIU students Pierre Solomon, 44, of Chicago and Marcus Stallings, 34, of Mound City, were arrested at about 21:02 p.m., for possession of cannabis in the 700 block of E. Grand Ave. They were issued Carbondale city notice-to-appear citations and released. 

SIU student James Gutierrez, 19, of Chicago, was arrested at about 4:55 a.m., in Pierce Hall for underage consumption of alcohol. He was issued a Carbondale city pay-by-mail citation and released. 

SIU Student Antonio Flores, 19, of Glendale Heights, was arrested at about 2:54 a.m., for driving under the influence of alcohol at W. Mill St. and S. Washington St. He was released after posting his driver’s license and $100 cash bond. 

SIU student Joseph Ducay, 19, of Carbondale was arrested at about 2:34 a.m., for underage consumption of alcohol and public urination at the Newman Center parking lot. He was issued Carbondale city notice to appear citations and released. 

SIU student Daniel Farrell, 18, of Carbondale, was arrested at about 1:52 a.m., for underage consumption of alcohol and public urination at Washington Square. He was issued a Carbondale city notice-to-appear and released. 

9/18: SIU student Jasmine Gibson, 18, of Chicago, was arrested at about 11:31 a.m., in Neely Hall for possession of alcohol. SIU student Ariana Zasada, 18, of Joliet, was arrested at the same time and place for possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were issued Carbondale city notices-to-appear and released. 

At about 6 p.m., a theft of $500 and under was reported at the SIU Recreational Center. SIU Police say it was a wallet. There are currently no suspects. 

9/20: A 25-year-old SIU student reported receiving a fraudulent check through the mail at about 3:13 p.m. at Evergreen Terrace. The investigation is ongoing. 

On Sept. 14, at about 11:05 a.m., a Campus Security Authority reported one incident of sexual assault in an unknown on-campus housing location during the 2017 calendar year.

9/22: SIU student Alonzo Williams, 18, of Carbondale, was arrested at 10:07 p.m., at Neely Hall for possession of cannabis. He was issued a Carbondale pay-by-mail citation and released. 

Non-SIU student Shawndell Douglas, 26, Hazel Crest, was arrested at 5:23 p.m., at the Recreational Center for use of false identification. He was issued a Carbondale notice to appear and released. 

On Sept. 22, at 8:01 a.m., in parking lot 58, a report of criminal damage to state property (a SIU vehicle windshield). SIU Police report no suspects at the time. 

9/23: Luther Stuthers, 43, of Carterville, was arrested at 1:48 p.m., at Southern Hills at Wall Street, for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. For those charges, he was issued a Carbondale notice to appear citation. He was also arrested on charges of a failure to appear warrant from Jackson County for contempt of court. He was unable to post the required bond and was taken to the Jackson County Jail. 

SIU student Natalia Avalos, 19, of Carbondale, was arrested at 12:41 a.m., at Grinnell Hall for underage consumption of alcohol. She was issued a Carbondale pay-by-mail citation and released. 

SIU student Carras Grygield, 18, of Rockton, was arrested at 12:39 a.m., in parking lot 6, for underage consumption of alcohol. Grygiel was issued a Carbondale pay-by-mail citation and released. 

9/24: SIU student Alec Welter, 18, of Inverness, was arrested on charges of use of false identification. She was issued a Carbondale notice to appear and released.
