Two Murphysboro residents face charges of aggravated battery and mob action after they allegedly attacked a victim with a Taser and knife last Saturday night.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies arrested Billy Jack Reed, 21; and Dakota Digby, 23, both of Murphysboro, around 7 a.m. Sunday at 56 Hoover Rd. on charges of aggravated battery and mob action.

Deputies first received information around 8:30 p.m. the preceding night that Reed and Digby allegedly had attacked a victim at the rural residence using a Taser and a knife. Deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence, and when they made the arrests, they reportedly also recovered the weapons.

Both were taken to the Jackson County Jail, and bond has been set at $50,000 for each.

Both are due in Jackson County circuit court for preliminary hearings Sept. 1.
