Residents along the Illinois 13 corridors can now get their groceries delivered to their front door.
According to a news release from Instacart.com, a retail delivery service whose shoppers hand pick and deliver items from local grocery stores announced it has expanded into the Carbondale and Marion market.
Residents can order from Schnucks and CVS and have their groceries dropped off at their door in about an hour, the news release said. Also, Instracart is offering customers a free, one-year subscription of “Instracart Express” which offers unlimited free grocery delivery for order more than $35. The promotion ends Aug. 13.
“Over the past year we’ve seen incredible demand in the Carbondale-Marion area,” Dave Osborne, Instacart General Manager said. “We work with a variety of local retailers to provide the freshest, highest quality groceries to our customers. Launching our service into Carbondale-Marion area gives us an opportunity to expand service in the Illinois market. We’re also excited to build a world class shopper community, where we can offer fun and flexible jobs for our shoppers, who ultimately deliver this amazing service to the community.”
First-time users can use the code hicdale20 at checkout and get $20 off an order of $35 or more plus free delivery. Customers can go to www.instacart.com or open the Instacart mobile application on iPhone or Android devices.
"Instacart gives customers the gift of time and convenience,” Osborne said to the Times. “They no longer have to spend time driving to the store, navigating the aisles, and waiting in checkout lines. We bring all of their favorite items right to their front door."
