Here are the proceedings at the Jackson County Courthouse from Wednesday, April 26 to Monday, May 8.

Felonies
5/08:

  • Meko Hotstream, 23, of DeKalb, pleaded guilty to theft more than $500, a Class A misdemeanor. He was given 75 hours  public service, 24 months probation and 12 months conditional discharge. 

Misdemeanors


4/26:

  • Chase McFarland, 31, of Carterville, pleaded guilty to assault, a Class C misdemeanor. He was given 48 days in jail, six months probation and ordered to undergo drug and alcohol treatment.
  •     James Hadley, 33, of Carbondale, pleaded guilty to criminal trespassing to land, a Class B misdemeanor. He was given 40 days in jail and six months conditional discharge.
  •     William Spearman, 19, of Carbondale, pleaded guilty to battery, a Class A misdemeanor. He was given 18 days in jail and 12 months conditional discharge.
  •     Donny Ricker, 36, of Murphysboro, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, a Class A misdemeanor. He was given 12 months probation.
  •     Troy Higgins, 43, of Murphysboro, pleaded guilty to retail theft of less than $300, a Class A misdemeanor. He was given 36 days in jail and received 12 months conditional discharge.
  •     Harvey Merriweather, 26, of Tamms, pleaded guilty to resisting a peace officer, a Class A misdemeanor. He was given 38 days in jail and 12 months conditional discharge.
  •     Jamie Goodman, 35, of Grand Tower, pleaded guilty to domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor. He was given 12 months probation.

4/27:

  • Karissa Simpson, 28, of Murphysboro, pleaded guilty to possession of hypodermic syringes and needles, a Class A misdemeanor. She was given 34 days in jail and 12 months probation. 

5/08:

  • Dominique Billips, 21 of Racine, Wisconsin, pleaded guilty to domestic battery, Class A misdemeanor. He was given 12 months probation and forced to undergo alcohol and drug treatment.
  •     Tyler Payne, 22, of Chester, pleaded guilty to criminal damage to property more than $300, a Class A misdemeanor. He was given 12 months probation.
  •     Charles Williams, 38, of Grand Tower, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, a Class C misdemeanor. He was given 6 months conditional discharge and fined.
  •     Danielle Gude, 32, of Carbondale, pleaded guilty to domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor. She was given 18 months probation and fined.
  •     Fredrick Burnett, 30, of Carbondale, pleaded guilty to resisting a peace officer, a Class A misdemeanor. He was given four months probation, 100 hours public service and fined.

DUI

4/25:

  • Bradon Zentz, 36, of Carbondale, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, a Class A misdemeanor. He was given 60 days in jail, 100 hours of public service and 12 months probation. He was also ordered to undergo alcohol treatment.
  •     Charles Borger, Jr., 61, of Carbondale, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, a Class A misdemeanor. He was given 12 months probation and ordered to undergo alcohol treatment.

5/02:

  • Charlie Dogan, 51, of Carbondale, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, a Class A misdemeanor. He was given 12 months probation and ordered to undergo alcohol treatment.
  •     Danielle Gude, 32 of Carbondale, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, a Class A misdemeanor. She was given 6 months in jail, 24 months probation, 200 hours of public service and ordered to undergo alcohol treatment.
