A juvenile was arrested at Carbondale Community High School after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman and her daughter while in traffic.
Police say they responded around 8:36 a.m. April 20 to an aggravated assault complaint that occurred in the 1900 block of West Main Street. The victim reported she was driving on West Main Street when a black vehicle began following her closely. The black vehicle then reportedly pulled alongside her vehicle at a traffic light, and a teenage driver pointed a firearm toward her and her daughter.
The victim provided officers with a detailed description, which resulted in the identification of a juvenile suspect and his vehicle. They subsequently were located at Carbondale Community High School. The vehicle was impounded, and a firearm was located in the trunk of the vehicle. The firearm was non-operational and unable to be discharged.
The suspect was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
